To give international students an in-depth experience of Taiwan's traditional festival culture, the International School of CHU held a "Dragon Boat Festival Cultural Experience Activity," combining performances and interactive games, attracting around 350 faculty and students to join the celebration. Through diverse and engaging activity design, the event not only helped international students understand the cultural significance of the Dragon Boat Festival, but also let them feel the campus's home-like care and warmth in a relaxed and lively atmosphere.

Vice President and Director of the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs, Hong-Nian Hsieh, stated that the purpose of holding this event was to let students from different countries experience the charm of Taiwanese festivals together. Vice President Hsieh pointed out that the Dragon Boat Festival is not only an important folk festival in Taiwan, but is also celebrated in Vietnam on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, symbolizing the change of seasons and prayers to ward off plague and bring blessings. Although customs vary from place to place, they all carry the same wish for health and peace. He noted that cultural exchange through festivals can promote cross-cultural understanding and bring people closer together. VP Hsieh also interacted with students in a humorous way, joking that "eating zongzi will help you pass your exams smoothly, all A's," encouraging students to work hard in their studies while also remembering to share their wonderful experience of celebrating festivals in Taiwan with their families back home, passing along the blessings. He emphasized that the university is committed to ensuring that every international student feels warm support and a sense of belonging while studying abroad in Taiwan.

This event was jointly planned by the International School and the Chung Hua Hongzong Traditional Culture Promotion Association, offering rich and exciting content. The event opened with an energetic performance by the competitive cheerleading team, followed by the CHU Music Club singing two Chinese songs, showcasing musical charm and winning enthusiastic applause from the audience. This was followed by team challenge activities, including "Charade," "Collect the Zongzi Ingredients," "Rock-Paper-Scissors Relay," and "Big Ball Push Competition," which tested teamwork while incorporating elements of the Dragon Boat Festival, allowing students to learn cultural knowledge through hands-on experience. The overall event combined education with entertainment, allowing international students to get to know the festival through "participation," deepening their understanding of and identification with Taiwanese culture.

CHU has long placed importance on the learning and life development of international students, actively creating a friendly and inclusive campus environment through festival events, cultural courses, and diverse exchange platforms. In the future, the university will continue to promote international education, cultivating talent with cross-cultural communication skills and a global vision, so that every student can grow steadily and reach their full potential at CHU.
