CHU continues to deepen its international exchange footprint, recently welcoming David Hind, Chairman of the Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management (APIEM), back to campus. In addition to arranging a series of thematic lectures and practical workshops, he also paid a special visit to President Victor Liu for in-depth discussions on international education cooperation and talent cultivation. This exchange demonstrated the university's comprehensive international connections and rich teaching resources, while highlighting the results of its EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) bilingual education initiatives, creating a more globally competitive learning environment for students.

Chairman David Hind stated that APIEM has long been committed to building a cooperative platform for tourism and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) education across the Asia-Pacific region, currently connecting academic and industry resources across multiple countries. Through international forums, professional certifications, and talent development programs, APIEM promotes a seamless link between education and industry. He praised CHU's active investment and concrete achievements in international MICE education and bilingual teaching, and expressed hope that both sides would continue working together in the future to open up more diverse international learning opportunities and broaden students' global perspectives.

During the visit, Chairman David Hind paid a special call on CHU President Victor Liu, and the two exchanged views on trends in higher education internationalization, the development of EMI bilingual courses, and future directions for cooperation. President Liu highly praised APIEM's decade of support and assistance to the university, and thanked Chairman David Hind for his contributions to promoting MICE education and international connections. The two sides interacted warmly, not only deepening their cooperative relationship but also bearing witness to the friendship accumulated over years between cross-border education partners.

Dean of the College of Tourism, Hsin-Wen Chang, stated that her collaboration with Chairman David Hind has spanned more than a decade, and APIEM has become one of the college's most important international partners, providing crucial assistance in curriculum design, professional certification, and faculty-student exchanges. The College of Tourism was awarded "International Centre of Excellence" accreditation in 2016, demonstrating that its teaching quality has reached international standards. Through EMI bilingual courses and cross-border cooperation models, the college has successfully attracted students from various countries to study in Taiwan, gradually building a diverse and internationalized learning environment.

In addition, during this visit, Chairman David Hind delivered multiple thematic lectures for the College of Tourism and students across the university, covering topics such as trends in the international MICE industry, the application of artificial intelligence in event management, and problem-based learning models in UK higher education, helping students grasp industry development trends from a global perspective. He has also long been involved in teaching and exchange as an Honorary Distinguished Professor, strengthening students' cross-disciplinary abilities and international competitiveness.

Going forward, CHU will continue to integrate APIEM's global network with the university's diverse teaching resources, promoting deeper international cooperation and academic exchange, and striving to cultivate professional talent with international vision, innovative thinking, and sustainability values.
