CHU's 114th Academic Year Commencement adopted the popular game "Pikmin" as its theme, creating a creative and vibrant atmosphere, with an AI-adapted rendition of the school song serving as the highlight of the event. Led by Dr. Ai-Ling Gong — Director of the Bachelor's Program in Information Management and Decision Sciences at San Francisco State University and Director of the Bachelor's Program in Information Management and Data Science at UC Irvine — students used AI to re-arrange the school song. While preserving the original spirit of the piece, they incorporated contemporary rhythms and electronic tones, producing a fresh rendition that was both powerful and youthful. Dr. Gong noted that by combining technology with musical creation, the ceremony was brought closer to the language of the younger generation, while also giving students hands-on experience with AI applications, strengthening their cross-disciplinary integration and innovation skills — a testament to the university's talent development in the digital age.

The ceremony brought together distinguished guests from various fields to witness this important milestone as graduates stepped into a new chapter of life, offering their sincere blessings and encouragement. Hsinchu City Deputy Mayor Lin Kun-han remarked that graduation is not the end of learning, but an important starting point for entering the workforce. Facing a rapidly changing environment, graduates should cultivate adaptability and a sense of crisis awareness. He emphasized that in an era of rapid AI development, soft skills such as empathy, character, and interpersonal interaction are more valuable than ever alongside professional knowledge. He encouraged graduates to keep improving themselves, expand their networks, boldly explore new fields, and diligently complete every task — with opportunities naturally following the accumulation of capability.

CHU Board Chair Madame Yang Hung noted that from the moment students enroll, they become members of the Chung Hua family, and even as they go their separate ways, the bonds and connections between them will endure. She pointed out that in the face of declining birth rates, the university has carefully planned its transformation, including pursuing a merger with National Tsing Hua University to carry forward its educational mission. She stressed that since its founding, CHU has always stayed true to its educational ideals, with all campus resources dedicated to nurturing talent. This transition will fully transfer the university's achievements, continuing to contribute to the nation's talent development. She encouraged graduates to uphold the spirit of "diligence, simplicity, integrity, and righteousness," carrying forward the values of CHU.

CHU Founder Lin Cheng-tse noted that CHU was established in response to national development needs and the demands of the Hsinchu Science Park. Over 36 years, it has cultivated over 60,000 outstanding graduates, making significant contributions to industry and society. He stated that after the merger with Tsing Hua University, the campus will continue to serve as a base for education and the cultivation of high-tech talent, ensuring the spirit of the institution lives on. He used the metaphor "turning into spring soil to nurture the flowers" to describe the significance of the university's transformation — emphasizing it as a process of accumulating energy and continuing a mission — and wished graduates steady progress and the full expression of their talents in the next stage of their lives.

President Liu stated that in an era where the AI wave is sweeping the globe, it is crucial to develop personal strengths and the ability to seize opportunities. He proposed "Sunshine, Innovation, and π-Chung Hua" as core competencies for students. He explained that a positive attitude helps accumulate opportunities and connections, innovative thinking expands horizons and opens up new possibilities, and cross-disciplinary learning strengthens resilience in the face of challenges. Together, these three elements form a key competitive advantage for the future, enabling graduates to continuously create opportunities and stand out in their careers.

Yu-shan, Lin, Wei-chen, Chao and Yi-chen Li spoke on behalf of the graduating class, sharing that their four university years were not only about accumulating professional knowledge, but also about gradually discovering themselves through diverse learning and practical experience. From international volunteer service and campus event planning to teamwork challenges, each experience taught them to grow in the face of adversity and develop problem-solving skills. They expressed that it is precisely these seemingly ordinary yet deeply meaningful experiences that have gradually built the strength to carry them forward — and that they will take what they have gained at CHU to continue exploring the world and boldly pursue their dreams.

Graduate representative Ji-ying Wu shared his journey of completing his degree in three years — from classroom learning and diverse programs to laboratory research — progressively broadening his perspective and finding his direction. He recalled that he once considered transferring to another school, but after immersing himself in research and self-directed learning, he came to deeply appreciate that the value of education lies in continuous exploration and maintaining passion. He also mentioned that the support of faculty and the mutual encouragement of peers meant that learning extended far beyond the classroom, becoming a vital nourishment for life. He called on his fellow graduates to keep improving themselves and make their choices with courage.

CHU stated that the institution has long promoted cross-disciplinary learning and practice-oriented teaching, combining international resources with innovative curriculum design to cultivate talent with both professional competency and practical ability. Through a comprehensive learning journey, students are equipped to strengthen their professional skills and integrative capabilities, successfully aligning with industry needs, and bringing their strengths to bear in the future workplace — creating diverse possibilities for development.
