To help international students studying far from home feel the warmth of togetherness during the Chinese New Year, CHU's International Academy hosted a "New Year Reunion Dinner" experience on campus, allowing students celebrating their first Lunar New Year in Taiwan to quickly grasp the "flavor of the New Year" and its cultural significance through interactive learning.

Vice President Yu-Li Lin noted the recent dramatic weather changes, reminding students to stay warm and healthy. He also urged students working part-time to prioritize personal safety and follow workplace regulations. With the Year of the Horse arriving, he shared the blessing "Success upon the Horse's Arrival", hoping all students pass their courses, build professional skills, and launch high-paying, long-term careers in Taiwan after graduation.

The most popular interactive activity was "Speak and Prosper," encouraging students to take the stage and exchange Chinese blessings—from "Wishing You Prosperity" and "Abundance Year After Year" to "May All Your Wishes Come True"—becoming familiar with festive expressions and Mandarin pronunciation amid laughter and applause. "Spring Fortune" featured challenges using cups, ping pong balls, and water, symbolizing "Rising Step by Step" and "Continuous Joy," transforming cultural learning into a lively experience. The meal encouraged free interaction, with students sharing hometown New Year dishes and stories, allowing cross-cultural dialogue to unfold naturally at the table.

Many international students expressed that the reunion dinner wasn't just about eating — it was a moment of being embraced and blessed. When they spoke their first Chinese lucky phrase and held their first cup of hot tea, "celebrating the Chinese New Year" truly entered the hearts of these students far from home.

CHU continues to build a friendly, international, and multilingual learning environment. Through the International Foundation Program, the university integrates language courses, cultural experiences, life guidance, and career planning resources to help international students not only progress academically but also adapt comfortably to local life and deepen their cultural understanding, cultivating global talents with cross-cultural communication skills and social awareness.
