[Oct 28th 2024] Sarawak Chinese Independent Schools' Delegation Visits CHU - Signs Alliance Agreement to Deepen Cooperation and Promote Exchange!



2024-10-28│ Secretariat Office Recently, Dato Wong Liang Kie, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sarawak Chinese Independent Secondary Schools, and Siaw Teck Chai, President of the Sarawak Taiwan Alumni Association, led a delegation of 20 people, including school principals and distinguished guests, from Malaysia to CHU for an educational visit. During their tour, they visited Taiwan's first AI+ Experience Center, co-established with Microsoft, and various metaverse spaces. The advanced technology impressed Dato Wong, who praised, "CHU is very advanced!"

Two Vice Presidents of CHU, Kun-ming Yu and Hung-nien Chieh, personally represented the university in welcoming the guests. To help educators efficiently understand the university's educational features, the delegation was shown the AI+ Experience Center (co-created with Microsoft) and the Metaverse Experience Center. They learned about smart retail, smart buildings, AI recognition, AR/VR scenarios, and 5G millimeter-wave indoor positioning equipment. The tour demonstrated how various colleges utilize these technologies in their professional fields to inspire students' innovative thinking and interdisciplinary abilities, strengthening their workplace competitiveness. During the visit, CHU signed alliance agreements with seven Chinese Independent Schools, bringing the total number of allied schools to 14. Both parties will regularly conduct faculty and student visits and fellowship activities, promoting resource sharing and deepening partnership relationships for mutual benefit. Notably, the university will provide four annual scholarships covering first-year tuition and fees for Malaysian students recommended by allied schools, encouraging Malaysian students to study in Taiwan and broaden their international perspectives!
