Vice President and International Affairs Dean Hung-nien Chieh, wearing a cape and carrying a cane, joined in with the students. He explained that Halloween evolved from the Celtic "Samhain" festival, and over two thousand years has transformed from an exorcism ritual into a holiday where neighbors can express creativity and show their personalities. The university actively organizes diverse holiday events to help students experience different cultures and build bonds between faculty and students. He specially reminded international students to maintain a positive attitude in developing their mind, body, and spirit to become well-rounded individuals.

The Halloween party lasted from morning until afternoon, with students dressed as the intimidating 7th and 8th Lords, while others carefully applied makeup to become the haunting Slit-Mouthed Woman. Everyone enjoyed expressing themselves through costumes. Chu Nhat Thao, a Vietnamese student from the College of Tourism, shared that as a newcomer to Taiwan, she was excited to participate in many campus activities and dress up with fellow students, believing it would become a wonderful memory! She even practiced her Chinese, saying "Happy Halloween!" with such perfect pronunciation that nearby students applauded.
Dean of Academic Affairs and Director of International Foundation Program Yu-li Lin noted that this year's event was particularly rich in content, featuring a "Ghost Parade," "Haunted House Challenge," and "Costume Contest" with prize money, attracting about 200 international students. As Halloween coincides with falling temperatures after Frost's Descent, the director reminded students to stay warm and safe while enjoying their studies! CHU actively promotes campus internationalization by organizing exciting events for Taiwan's three major festivals and Western celebrations like Mother's Day and Christmas. The goal is to help students integrate into local culture and increase opportunities for interaction, hoping to enrich international students' university life and warm the hearts of those far from home.
