[Nov 07th 2024] Big Leap in 2025 QS University Rankings! CHU Recognized for Internationalization and Small-Class Education
2024-11-07│ Secretariat Office CHU has made a significant leap in the 2025 QS Asian University Rankings, reaching 384th internationally, ranking 27th in Taiwan, and 11th among private universities. CHU President Victor Liu points out that facing the impact of declining birth rates, CHU has actively transformed itself through "internationalization" and "small class" refined management. Along with supporting the government's New Southbound Policy, they have successfully turned crisis into opportunity by cultivating talent bilaterally and expanding exchanges!
In the 2025 QS Asian University Rankings, 48 Taiwanese colleges and universities made the list, with CHU's improved ranking gaining international recognition! According to data provided by QS, the university performed particularly well in "Inbound Exchange Students" and "International Student Ratio" categories. Despite previous impacts from the pandemic, recruitment efforts in New Southbound countries remained strong, attracting many international students to study in Taiwan. According to QS statistics, in the 2022 academic year, there were still 712 international students (approximately 19.7%) and 653 short-term exchange students at CHU. Under the university's guidance, many international students have achieved direct employment in industrial parks through the "Industrial Park Cultivation Project," fulfilling both their personal goals and meeting industry workforce demands!

At the same time, through the "New Southbound Study Abroad Dream Project," CHU actively sends students to businesses and institutions with development potential in Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, and other countries for workplace internships. This helps domestic students better understand the lifestyles and cultural backgrounds of these countries. Through its core educational objectives of "people-oriented, bilateral exchange, and resource sharing," the university deepens the cultivation of bilateral talent and develops cooperative relationships with various countries.
CHU President Victor Liu notes that with the increasing number of international students, the university actively promotes bilingual EMI (English as Medium of Instruction) teaching. To date, many teachers have passed certification from Trinity College London, obtaining international EMI certificates. The School of Management and College of Tourism have established 3+1 dual degree programs with the University of the West of England and the University of Sunderland in the UK. They also collaborate with San Francisco State University and the University of California, Irvine on 3+1+1 dual degree programs, encouraging students to become more international! While many schools have chosen to reduce faculty hiring in response to declining birth rates, CHU has taken a contrarian approach by maintaining a student-to-faculty ratio better than Ministry of Education requirements. This ensures teaching quality stability and provides students with superior education while quietly cultivating and actively transforming the institution.

CHU has sister school relationships with over 160 renowned universities across more than 10 countries and regions, with dual degree and student exchange agreements. The university actively promotes international academic exchanges and hosts international conferences to increase its global visibility. They have ranked first in average approved cases per teacher in the Ministry of Education's "Teaching Practice Research Project" for four consecutive years (2020-2023), and will continue to strengthen teaching quality to contribute to social talent development.
