[Nov 13th 2024] CHU Promotes AI Campus-wide, Receives MOE Funding for GAI Curriculum Plan!
2024-11-13│ Secretariat Office CHU is promoting comprehensive integration of AI with curriculum this semester, combining faculty from the College of Information and Electrical Engineering, International College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Intelligent Business, and College of Management to implement the "Artificial Intelligence Technology and Application Series Courses" plan, which has received funding from the MOE. The university aims to cultivate international AI business talent through innovative education and widespread AI application!

Project Director and Dean Chen-chang Lien states that generative AI technology is currently widely appliedin content creation, entertainment and media, education and training, and design and innovation. TheMOE-funded "AI Technology and Application Series Courses" plan applies the BOPPPS systematic teaching modelto "GAI Smart Business Cross-domain Course Clusters," focusing on generative AI applications through smartmarketing videos, copywriting, and music to cultivate students with practical GAI applicationabilities!

Co-director of the project and Dean of the International College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Intelligent Business, Hsiao-hua Chien, explains that this program breaks away from college-based curriculum design. It integrates faculty from three colleges to form a cross-disciplinary team, while also inviting industry experts and scholars to collaborate on a micro-course in "Generative AI Information Identification and AI Ethics." The program focuses on smart business GAI technology applications while exploring AI ethical issues to cultivate students' relevant cognitive and legal accountability knowledge.

The "GAI Smart Business Cross-domain Course Cluster" series will be established in the International College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Intelligent Business, while the "Generative AI Information Identification and AI Ethics" micro-course will be housed in the College of Information and Electrical Engineering. Courses are open to students from all three colleges. Students will be gradually guided from establishing GAI knowledge foundations to group practical operations, culminating in project presentations, enhancing their professional skills and learning outcomes through systematic teaching.
CHU possesses Taiwan's first AI+ Experience Center, Metaverse Experience Center, and GAI Smart Business Teaching Laboratory equipment to help students strengthen their AI capabilities! Through offering related courses, organizing themed course cluster faculty, and introducing enterprise resources, the university aims to deepen employment links and strengthen industry-academy cooperation, cultivating GAI technology talent for the smart business industry through technology micro-programs to enhance students' employment competitiveness!
