Last weekend (on the 16th), CHU joyfully celebrated its 34th anniversary. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the graduation of the first cohort of alumni. CHU meticulously prepared performances by cheerleading teams and lion dances, a club carnival, and the highlight event, the "Broken Wood Artworks Auction", to welcome alumni back to their alma mater. The funds raised from the auction and luncheon will be fully donated to financially disadvantaged students within CHU to promote a spirit of social sustainability and positive development. Furthermore, Dr. Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al Nuaimi, the Prince of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who has close industry-academia exchanges with CHU, traveled to the campus to encourage the faculty and students. In front of everyone's eyes, he joined in wishing CHU a happy birthday, creating a lively and heart-warming atmosphere!

Since its establishment in 1990, CHU has upheld the school motto of "diligence, simplicity, sincerity, and uprightness", cultivating many socially pivotal talents with professional competence, innovative thinking, and empathetic care. In order to continue CHU's positive and proactive learning atmosphere, CHU chose its 34th anniversary celebration day to collaborate with a company that has previously won the National Sustainable Development Award in Taiwan, as well as returning young artisans. They transformed broken wood and recycled furniture from the CHU campus into brand-new and practical products like tables and chairs for auction. The funds raised from this "Broken Wood Artworks Auction" and alumni donations at the dinner will be fully utilized for the "New Hope Soaring Scholarship" to support disadvantaged students. It is hoped that the younger students can focus on their studies and advance their expertise in professional fields. Not only does this achieve environmental sustainability, but it also fosters a positive and proactive learning atmosphere on campus, making the event more meaningful! The anniversary celebration also invited Dr. Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al Nuaimi, the Prince of Ajman in the UAE, who traveled over 6,000 kilometers to Taiwan, to give bountiful blessings to CHU's faculty and students on stage. The Prince stated that Taiwan is a place full of opportunities, innovation, and technology. He hopes that students can passionately make themselves and the world better!

CHU's founding president, Chengtse Lin, stated that CHU was the first private university in Hsinchu City. He expressed gratitude to the board of directors for their long-term support in enabling CHU's smooth development and nurturing many outstanding CHU alumni who shine brilliantly in their areas of expertise. CHU's current president, Victor Liu also mentioned that since its establishment, CHU has had nearly 500 full-time faculty members and has cultivated over 56,000 graduates who have made significant contributions to society. On CHU's birthday, he wished that CHU could continue to deepen the integration of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the applications of AI technology in education within its curricula.

Since CHU was founded as an institute of technology, it has been 30 years since the graduation of its first cohort of alumni. Alumni from the originally established departments such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Engineering, Industrial Management, Architecture and Urban Planning, and Civil Engineering have long satisfied the talent needs of Hsinchu science parks and made significant contributions to their industries. As the private university closest to the Hsinchu Science Park, CHU has established Taiwan's first AI+ Center and continues to deepen AI education in its curricula to cultivate more professionals across various fields!
