[Feb 2th 2024]93% of office workers want to switch jobs after Chinese New Year Holiday, hospitality industry hottest! CHU’s College of Tourism gets ahead of the game, collaborating with the industry to meet staffing demands

According to recruitment website yes123, nearly 93% of office workers, about 8 million people, want to switch jobs after Chinese New Year Holiday, setting a 15-year record high. The most popular industries that people want to enter after switching jobs are hospitality and tech-related sectors. In light of this, CHU’s Department of Tourism and Exhibition Chair Yi-Ying Chan said that CHU has long-term collaborations with corporate groups, offering specialized corporate classes that allow students to enter the industry early, accumulating seniority while enhancing learning!

CHU’s Department of Tourism and Exhibition Chair Yi-Ying Chan pointed out that the hospitality industry faced staff shortages after the pandemic ended. Although the salaries of frontline service staff were significantly raised in the first instance, the rate of returning staff was not as expected. In light of this, many companies have expressed that they hope to enter universities earlier to recruit talent, nurturing employees' endorsement of the group's core values and professional skills. To meet the hospitality industry's staffing needs, CHU’s College of Tourism got ahead of the game in the industry, partnering with renowned companies such as MOS Burger, Tung Yuan Group, Liufu Travel Group, MUJI Hotel, and Hexagon Group to arrange internship opportunities for students domestically and abroad. CHU also offers specialized corporate classes through the Institute of Industry-Academia Collaboration, allowing students to work and study at the same time, earning monthly salaries ranging from NT$30,000 to NT$34,000 with great benefits and treatments.

Located in Hsinchu's technology corridor, CHU was established to meet the demand for high-tech talent in the Hsinchu Science Park. With the college as the core, the College of Tourism has taken the lead post-pandemic to integrate food and beverage baking, hospitality management, exhibitions and leisure as bachelor’s degree programs in tourism. It emphasizes interdisciplinary technological capabilities, international mobility, and high salary employment prospects. It is committed to nurturing professional talent for various service industries such as hotel management, food and beverage baking culinary skills, travel agency operations, tour guides and leaders, conference exhibitions and event planning, integrated marketing, etc. The College of Tourism has a mock hotel, internship restaurants, and a class A travel agency, serving as the best teaching facilities.
