To help international students deeply understand Taiwanese traditional culture and feel the care and companionship like family in a foreign land, CHU International Campus organized a Mid-Autumn Festival cultural experience event, inviting students from Taiwan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, and other countries to gather and celebrate the festival together. The event attracted over 300 enthusiastic international students. Through activities including singing songs in Chinese and English, charades, and pomelo peeling competitions, students learned about Mid-Autumn Festival customs. Amid laughter and interaction, they experienced the warmth of Taiwanese hospitality and further promoted understanding and interaction across different cultures.

Dr. Yuli Lin, VP of CHU said that many overseas students have just stepped onto campus this year, beginning a new learning journey in life. The university used the Mid-Autumn Festival event to help everyone get to know Taiwanese culture and build a sense of identity and belonging on campus. He encouraged students to take full advantage of the opportunity to study in Taiwan, comply with academic regulations, actively participate in learning, and pay attention to traffic safety and life management, growing steadily in a safe and friendly environment. VP Lin also wished all students success in completing their studies and laying a solid foundation for their future development.

During the event, Mandarin teacher Jiawei Hsu and Indonesian student Wensen Lin teamed up to sing Chinese and English songs, heating up the atmosphere. The following games of charades and pomelo peeling competitions helped students from various countries break through language and cultural barriers and build friendships through interaction. A student from Vietnam shared that Vietnam also values Mid-Autumn Festival. Besides moon gazing and eating mooncakes, they have lantern parades and other celebrations, creating a lively festive atmosphere. The Indonesian student expressed that although their hometown does not have the same Mid-Autumn customs as Taiwan, the cultural spirit of family reunion and sharing food is very similar. Being able to celebrate the festival with teachers and classmates allowed them to feel the warmth of home overseas.

CHU has long promoted international education and multicultural exchange. Through the International Campus system and various cultural experience activities, it helps overseas students adapt to life in Taiwan and creates a friendly and inclusive learning environment. The university will continue to provide more cross-cultural exchange opportunities for young people from around the world to not only improve their professional abilities but also broaden their international perspectives, accumulate cross-cultural communication experiences, and feel the support and companionship of a second home at CHU.
