The purposes
of the office of extracurricular activities are as follows: to extend classroom
learning to the daily life, to join the school and the local
communities, to direct students to spend more time on healthy leisure activities, to develop
students' self-control abilities, to learn about inter-relationship among people, and to cultivate
the body and mind. The ultimate goal is to achieve the whole person
education.
According
to different qualities, the student clubs are classified into six
types: (1)literature, (2)activities for promoting friendship, (3)recreation,
(4)service, (5)comprehensive activities, and (6)physical education.
With the growth of departments and the student population, the
number of the student clubs which is seventy-eight for now, will continue to increase.
