Department of Industrial Engineering and System Management

Four designated teaching and research areas are available emphasized for students majoring in Industrial Engineering and System Managements: (1)System Engineering, (2)Production Management and Logistics, (3)Human Factors/Ergonomics ,and (4) Manufacturing Automation and Information Systems.

The Department of Industrial Management offers undergraduate Master and Ph.D. programs that combine practical experience with abstract theories, assisting students to gain the understanding, skills, and techniques needed to be qualified for jobs, or to achieve his or her career goals in the industry. With the cooperation of the industry executives in Hsinchu, the department has created an internship program which provides participating students a structured management experience normally not available to a student until he or she has entered an industry after graduation.

Department of Business Administration and Grauate School of Business Administration

Our management model is developed on the basis of Chinese culture. We emphasize on business planning, opterating , as well as functioning of marketing, human resource, finance and information. Therefore, main management courses are divided to four sections as marketing management, human resource management, financial management and e-business. The curricula are well consctructed to build up students' ability in the above diversed fields of business administration.

Department Of Finance

The major educational objective of the Department is to cultivate students to be possessed professional financial management knowledge and to have the ability to solve the practical problems. In so doing, students who graduated from this department will have practical learning achievements, and with their solid financial management knowledge that can produce practical and useful effects to individuals, families, enterprises, and society. Overall, the department will do the best to increase the employment competitiveness of students in the financial market-related job markets.


Department of Transportation Technology and Logistics Management

Our mission is to educate the future professionals of the transportation technology and logistics management, as well as to provide skills and foundations for lifelong learning and growth. Besides providing fundamental knowledge in transportation and logistics, the department is actively educating students in the application of essential principles and proficiency in the areas of intelligent transportation system (ITS), transportation safety, distribution resource planning, logistics and supply chain management.


Department of International Business

Programs are stressed on the international environment, the trends of international economy, the operation and management of international business and the application of computer and communication technology. We also emphasize on computerized and scientific study of the management of international economy and businesses.

Courses are designed to combine theoretical and practical trainings, helping students build a complete worldview with a sense of responsibility and creativity.

History

  • 1993¡GM.S. in Industrial Management launched.
  • 1998¡GPh.D. in Industrial Management launched.
  • 1999¡GM.S. in Industrial Management (for Continuing Education Program) launched.
  • 2001¡GThe Graduate Institute of Industrial Management is renamed The Graduate Institute of Technology Management.
  • 2003¡GDepartment of Technology Management established.
  • 2005¡GThe new B.S. program in Technology Management (for Continuing Education Program) offered.
Mission
Our mission is to provide students with solid academic and practical basis with which they can meet any future challenges that they may face in their career. With the basis, students will be able to maximize both productivity and efficiency in their technology related workplaces through not only understanding the fundamental concepts but also thereby knowing how to utilize tools and applications of technology management.

Concentration Tracks
Our curriculum design prepares students for advanced studies, licenses & certificates, and corporate recruitment. In addition, there are three established concentration tracks in the department of TM: (1) Enterprise Resources Management Track, (2) Industry Analysis Track, and (3) IT Applications Track.

Department Performance Report of Academic Year 2006
  • 33 students passed the ERP certification exam.
  • 37 students passed the International Project Management certification exam.
  • 23 students entered graduate school.
  • 24 students participated in the Industrial Internship program.
  • Two projects in ¡§Student Career Development Services¡¨ were approved and funded by the government (Bureau of the Employment and Vocational Training, Council of Labor Affairs of the Executive Yuan).
Career Development
The department prepares students for the following careers:

Advanced Studies: Graduate degrees in Technology Management, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering and Management related fields.

Hi-Tech Industry Careers: Positions in Market Analysis, Strategic Market Planning, Public Administration, Production Management, Quality Management, Human Resources Management, or Manufacturing Operations related fields.
